Gardens Need Pvt Ltd has a remarkable story that began in 1976 when Harvinder Malhotra founded the company as Malhotra Plastic. Our humble beginnings were rooted in a small room factory located in Pahari Dhiraj, near Sadar Bazar in Delhi, where we started with just four hand-molded machines. Initially, we focused on manufacturing plastic pots for artificial flowers and toys for the domestic market.

In 1998, Siddharth Malhotra joined the company, bringing enhanced production capabilities. Two years later, in 2000, Gautam Malhotra joined the team to lead sales and marketing efforts. Mr. Harvinder Malhotra’s passion for plants highlighted the challenges faced by gardeners using heavy cement pots— the only available option at that time. This insight inspired the creation of lightweight plastic pots, positioning us as one of the early innovators in this category.

As we worked to make plastic pots more visible in the market, we consistently launched new designs and vibrant colors to meet consumer needs. In 2013, Bhawna Malhotra joined the company to strengthen our sales and marketing efforts, further contributing to our growth.

In 2015, our ambition to expand our footprint across India led to a rebranding from Malhotra Plastic to Gardens Need. We established a structured distribution system, transforming the market from unorganized to organized. We also introduced an MRP system for our planters, fostering transparency and enhancing consumer trust. Our commitment to innovation continued as we launched various new designs, including railing pots, hook pots, vertical gardens, and stack-a-pots tailored for the Indian market.

By 2022, we were excited to welcome Mrs. Raveena Tandon as our brand ambassador, solidifying our position as India’s No. 1 manufacturer of plastic pots. Today, we proudly serve over 100 distributors and are available in more than 350 cities across India. Our in-house mold-making facility allows us to maintain a daily production capacity of 100,000 pieces, utilizing advanced processes such as injection molding, roto molding, and blow molding.

With a dedicated team of over 500 employees, we operate three factories and three warehouses in different locations throughout India. Our extensive product portfolio features over 1,000 live SKUs in garden pots and accessories, accessible in more than 10,000 nurseries and garden shops nationwide. You’ll also find our products in leading retail chains like Reliance, D-Mart, Mr. DIY, and Home Centre, as well as online through major platforms like Amazon and Flipkart. We are also a proud manufacturing partner for Solimo.
